Senior Jenna Shahid has been at Trevor for her entire life. As someone who has gone through the school’s historic move to East 95th, watched friends come and go and had her fair share of strict teachers, she surely has a ton of Trevor knowledge under her belt. In her advice column, “Ask Jenna,” she answers students’ pressing questions relating to day-to-day school stitches.

Q: I have this really big project due tomorrow and I haven’t started yet! What should I do?

A: What should you do?! More like should you have done! Next time you have a major project due, it probably would be a good idea to get an early start so you don’t cram and do a sloppy job. Don’t feel bad, though—we’ve all been there before. In the meantime, get to work! I believe you can pull it off! Good luck!

Q: Everyone keeps telling me I need to show more school spirit. How can I do that?

A: You can show more school spirit by sporting some new gear! Check your email for spiritwear sales. They usually take place outside of the front doors or on the mezzanine on the first floor. If you’re unable to attend the sales but still want show Trevor spirit, you can also check out the online store that has inventory available! In the meantime, you might want to start attending and supporting our athletes at their home and away games! Woohoo! Let’s go Dragons!

Q: I feel like this one teacher hates me. How can I win her over?

A: I promise she doesn't hate you! Sometimes, it’s the little things that can go a long way with your teachers. Show her that you’re an active participant in class and have a genuine interest in the subject at hand. You can even stop by her desk and let her get to know you—that’s what our centers are for!
